Kiwanis Club of Monterey
The Kiwanis Club of Monterey was founded nearly a hundred years ago! We are a proud part of Kiwanis International, a global organization dedicated to serving the children of the world. The members of Kiwanis International annually raise nearly $400 million dollars and dedicate more than 7 million volunteer hours to strengthen communities and serve children.
The Kiwanis Club of Monterey meets for lunch most Wednesdays and has an evening meeting on the second Wednesday of each month. You are invited to be our guest at one of our meetings to learn more about us. Check our calendar to find the details for our next club meeting!
How We Help Our Community
The Kiwanis Club of Monterey raises approximately $40,000 annually by recruiting and managing a large volunteer workforce for the TaylorMade/Pebble Beach Invitational Golf Tournament every November and participates in other smaller fundraisers when possible. This hard-earned money is distributed through grants to dozens of good causes throughout the area and funds a generous four-year college scholarship awarded to a graduating high school senior each spring.
Our volunteers also:
- Staff the main music venue at First Night Monterey every New Year’s Eve
- Manage the handing out of plants each March at “Cutting Day”
- Donate money and provide volunteers for Thanksgiving and Christmas meal distributions
- Maintain a section of park space along the Monterey Recreation Trail
- Purchase children’s books and use them to supply “little libraries” around town
- Help with crowd control at the finish line of the Big Sur International Marathon
- Distribute food for the Food Bank of Monterey County each month at the Marina Library

Each year, we raise about $40,000, mainly from the annual golf tournament, but we are always happy to receive general donations.

We meet every 1st, 3rd and 4th Wednesday from 11:30 – 1:00. We would love for you to join us as our guest to find out more about the Club! 2nd Wednesdays we meet in the evening and 5th Wednesdays are a Fun Night.
